Gjetost, Norwegian Fudge Cheese
Norwegian fudge cheese
-
DESCRIPTIONGjetost cheese, known as Norwegian Fudge Cheese is a most unusual caramelised Norwegian cheese made with goat's milk and cow's cream. I thinks it tastes a bit like a caramac bar but with a slightly sour note. We have masses of people coming into the shop getting very excited about 'fudge cheese' when they see it. Often eaten on toast, with jam in it's home country, it's also a staple for cross country skiers! Made with cow's and goats milk.

A surprising tasting cheese. I know it say's a fudge cheese but I did not expect it to taste so like fudge. Was amazing.

Remember Caramac?
Cheese that tastes of toffee/fudge/condensed milk or if you remember back to the 60s, Caramac chocolate (the modern version is not the same, sadly). My husband adores it - slice thinly like teh Norwegians do and let it melt on your tongue - you will never have tasted another cheese like it.

It’s Cheese Marmite
I loved this cheese. The rest of the family hated it. Speaking to Scandinavian friends they say it’s the normal response. If you want cheese that looks like fudge, has the mouthfeel of thick fudge & is sweet then this is for you. I’ll be buying this again.
