    Maasdam was created in the 1990s as an alternative to Emmenthal.  It is aged for 4 - 12 weeks and has a nutty, buttery flavour similar to Jarlesberg but slightly sweeter.  Made by the Dutch but in a Swiss style, this Cow's milk cheese is mild and smooth with nutty notes and a sweet taste.
