DESCRIPTIONMontgomery Cheese is a wonderful real farmhouse cheddar made near Yeovil in Somerset. Montgomery is a raw milk cheese from the Montgomery's own herd of Friesan cows, wrapped in muslin and matured for 12 - 18 months during which time it develops a deep, rich, spicy flavour. Made with fresh unpasteurised milk using traditional calf rennet, this is truly a traditional farmhouse cheddar, even down the old slow peg mill used which gives the cheese its slightly brittle characteristic. A good firm cheddar, this really is a top class cheese, a 'must have' if you haven't tried it before.
