Worcester Hop Cheese, cheddar in toasted hops, formerly called Hereford Hop
Our biggest seller, tangy, cheddar rolled in Hops
DESCRIPTIONWorcester Hop Cheese was formerly known as Hereford hop cheese, but although the name has changed, it's the same cheese we've always sold by Croome cuisine and by far our biggest seller in Hereford. An unusual cheese made near Worcester and rolled in toasted hops from Herefordshire. Invented in 1990 it's softer than other Cheddars and has a strong distinctive flavour. This is a really popular cheese in these parts, so much so that we sell over 100kgs every Christmas! Worcester Hop has a really tangy flavour and is really smooth and creamy.
This cheese has been present on the base of a many a wedding cheese cake, it looks great with all the hops and as it's such a popular one, seems to go down very well to a wide variety of tastes.
A whole 4kg Hereford Hop 24cm x 8cm. We often cut them in half across the middle so you can have a circle that is 4cm high (picture 3).
You can also get a 1kg semi circle, which matches well with a Whittington Oak for a base of a little cake (picture 4)- we sell a lot of these for birthday parties. You can also get a 2kg whole which is about 20cm wide..
