Laura party cheese cake, 3.45kg cheese stack

Laura is a lovely wedding cheese cake feeding 35 - 70 and to celebrate our Laura in the Hereford shop, it's got one of her favourites, a lovely little rind washed cheese in there!  A lovely British selection, Laura will be sure to delight your guests.

From the bottom to the top:

Yorkshire Blue: A lovely mid strength blue.  Makers Shepherds Purse advertise it as being mild but I think it has a bit more flavour than that really.  Gorgeously creamy, with a lovely balance of flavour, I think this cheese suits a variety of tastes.  This blue is made in Thirsk using Yorkshire cow's milk which is pasteurised and uses vegetarian rennet. It is a handmade in a continental style which gives it a buttery-sweet flavour without a sharp bite.  Softer blue cheeses are often made in foil to keep in the moisture and to stop a hard rind forming and the cheese drying out so it can be presented in a silver foil if that suits your colour scheme more. 1.5kg

Inglewhite Clothbound Cheddar: We cut a tall cheese in half to give you this lovely 1.25kg slice, about 7cm high.  Made with pasteurised milk and vegetarian rennet, its a lovely tasty proper cheddar, perfect if everyones likely to be having a good drink with the cheese!

Oxford Isis a wonderful rind washed cheese, washed in honey mead.  Sticky and stinky. Vegetarian and pasteurised.

Finn: A mature, double cream cheese made up the road at Neal's Yard Creamery, Dorstone. It has a firm texture with a fresh creamy acidity. Weighing about 200g, they are 9cm wide by 4cm.  Unpasteurised, cow's
milk,vegetarian 9cm x 4cm. 200g.

Dorstone: A wonderfully smooth ashed goats cheese from the Neals Yard Creamery. Cut open the slightly funky looking exterior and you'll be presented with gorgeous, soft, pure white moosey goats cheese yummyness. It's a great topper to a wedding stack and looks amazing on any cheese board.  We can make this a vegetarian stack for the same price by adding a Godminster cheddar heart on the top instead of the Dorstone, just drop us a note in the checkout if you would like that swap, or you can pay £5 more for an Ashlyn Goat which is a vegetarian ashed goats cheese for the top..  

For a gathering we recommend 50 - 100g per person, depending if the cheese is to be eaten straight after the meal or later in the evening and with other food or by itself.  (So the lower amount it shows as feeding is based on 50g and the higher is 100g) We can very happily advise over email so drop us a line on info@mousetrapcheese.co.uk for ideas for a bespoke cheese board for your wedding or event.
