Hawes Special reserve Wensleydale Cheese is matured for slightly longer than ordinary Wensleydale. Wensleydale cheese is mild with a fresh, clean flavour and a crumbly, flaky texture. Real Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese is hand-made to an old recipe, using Wensleydale milk from local family farms. The Northerners out there will of course know that Wensleydale cheese goes fantastically well with something sweet, traditionally eaten with Christmas cake in some parts, but also lovely with a fruit loaf or the like.
Comes to us in a 1.25kg quarter shaped piece.

Looking for vegetarian cheese without rennet .. ordered four different cheeses as this was my first order and all are delicious with this Wensleydale my favourite .. easy to cut and slightly crumbly.. freezes well .. arrives wrapped in cheese paper so stays fresh .. delivery box contained packs which were still frozen and have saved in freezer to reuse in sandwich box for lunch .. service and choice excellent with delivery on time .. really pleased!
You cannot go wrong with with this cheese, creamy and utterly irresistible, fantastic.
