Poppy Wedding Cheese Cake, 4.6kg gorgeous cheese tower.
The Poppy cheese stack is a great cheese cake for a small wedding or gathering, coming in at 4.6kg and 40cm high to the top of the heart, it would feed up to 45 for an evening do or up to 90 for after dinner cheese if you just wanted a small nibble or had other food too.
You can order a sample pack of the poppy cheese cake, consisting of 100g of each cheese, or 200g of each,
The cheeses from the bottom to the top:
Snowdonia Mature Cheddar: A lovely creamy tasty welsh cheddar. Known as a Black Bomber when in its tiny form. Covered in black wax. Cows milk, pasteurised and vegetarian. 2kg 22cm x 10cm.
Half Baby Stilton O: From the Colston Bassett Dairy, this is a beautiful Stilton, creamy, full of flavour, really lovely. Pasteurised, cow's milk, vegetarian, 1kg 17cm x 8cm.
Cornish Yarg: A lovely gentle hard cheese. Mild yet full of flavour, it's a great looker, covered by nettles. It gives this stack great height. Cow's milk, pasteurised, vegetarian. 13cm x 9cm. 1kg.
Camembert: The classic French cheese, giving another soft cheese option to this selection 11cm x 4cm, cow's milk, pasteurised, normal rennet. (If you need this to be vegetarian please let us know in the gift message in the checkout and we can slot in another soft cheese here - it will look much the same).
Finn: A mature, double cream cheese made up the road at Neal's Yard Creamery, Dorstone. It has a firm texture with a fresh creamy acidity. Weighing about 200g, they are 9cm wide by 4cm. Unpasteurised, cow's
milk,vegetarian 9cm x 4cm. 200g.
Neuf Chatel: This lovely heart cheese is believed to date back to the 6th Century, so a few Centuries younger than St Valentine himself. Its a soft, slightly crumbly mould ripened soft cheese originating from the village of Neufchâtel-en-Bray in northern Normandy and is made with pasteurised cows milk and animal rennet. 200g
For the Vegetarian option, we would pop in a Cotswold brie instead of the camembert and a Godminster heart instead of the Neufchatel, so lovely cheddar in burgundy wax.
For a gathering we recommend 50 - 100g per person, depending if the cheese is to be eaten straight after the meal or later in the evening and with other food or by itself. (So the lower amount it shows as feeding is based on 50g and the higher is 100g) We can very happily advise over email so drop us a line on info@mousetrapcheese.co.uk for ideas for a bespoke cheese board for your wedding or event. We love a bit of notice so we can keep organised and ripen your cheese to perfection, so please do order in advance if you can, you choose delivery date in the checkout. If you order last minute and we are short of any cheeses we will contact you before we send so please ensure you leave a phone number that will be answered. Delivery is free for orders over £40..
