Rutland Red is a really lovely Red Leicester cheese, actually made in Leicestershire. Full of caramel notes and a real complexity of flavour. The cheese is wrapped in buttered cloth and matured for 6 months, giving the cheese a wonderful, slightly flaky consistency and the gorgeous depth of colour. Gathering many gold awards at recent International and Global cheese awards, it's not surprising that this has become a firm favourite in the shop!

My guests were blown away by this fabulous Red Leicester. Not a cheese that I would normally buy but this one is so delicious & has a great texture; I would definitely buy again.
As the former owner of an artisan cheese business ( the Cheese Stall Cambridge I would like to compliment the people at Mousetrap Cheese for the excellent condition of their cheese. They were perfect and arrived promptly and I have enjoyed eating them. It is nostalgia for me as I no longer have access to perfect cheeses. Thanks David
